Oh hi there.

Are you looking for a blog about the real nests of real humans as curated by a real lady?

Well, come on in then!

That old house

That old house

My husband and I bought our first house on a whim from a couple that looked like a really hot version of us. I think they were honest to goodness models even. The girl was 2 days post-partum and French when we met her. She was a wee thing clad in cashmere and smoking cigarettes. The guy was a contractor with a rare form of wood autism that I was really feeling. I think he originally bought the house for $10,000 Montreal dollars a few years before us back when it was an aluminum shack across the street from an honest to goodness factory prostitute. Then I think he prayed to wood Satan and made some bewitched gentrified version of the original that sold for 50 times that price. I just noticed there are the ghosts of a blue colllar family in the window next door. I guess they were too busy to get too haunty with us.

We even built a giant dog house for my parents out back. Both of my children were born there (not like in the bathtub, but in the local hospital I mean) and it holds a lot of family memories. I sure do miss it.
